Updating your bridge

Migrate to a new version without redoing setup — your settings and serial carry across, and your listings stay live.

When a new bridge version is released, you migrate rather than set up again. Your category, animal types and visitor setting all transfer, and your listings stay live throughout.

A few minutes

1. Get the new bridge

Touch the SLC Bridge Update Terminal in-world and it hands you the current bridge.

There are two terminals side by side at Redlion (240, 15, 40), alongside the verification terminal:

They're separate so that updating one doesn't mean re-rezzing the other. Each one's floating text tells you which version it's holding.

2. Unpack it

Touch the box in your inventory — it arrives named for the version it holds, so you can tell it from an older one. Inside is the new bridge.

3. Rez the new bridge

Rez it next to your existing bridge, on the same sim. It shows:

SLC Bridge Set up or Migrate

Choose Migrate. It sends a request to your old bridge.

4. Confirm

A dialog asks whether to transfer settings from the old bridge. Choose Yes, migrate.

These come across automatically:

Category — Land & Parcels or Breedable Markets

Animal types and creators, for markets

Visitor counting setting

The new bridge connects and takes over from the old one. It keeps the same serial, so your listings stay exactly where they are — nothing is rebuilt and there's no gap in service.

5. Wait for Connected, then delete the old one

The old bridge turns amber:

Settings handed over DO NOT DELETE until the new bridge says Connected

Watch the new bridge. Once its hover text reads Connected with your serial, the handover is finished and you can right-click the old one and delete it.

Don't delete it before then. Your listings are still held by the old bridge until the new one is connected — that is what makes this safe. If anything goes wrong in between, touch the old bridge and it carries on exactly as before.

Done.

Worth knowing

Your serial stays the same. The new bridge takes over the old one's identity, so your listings are never disconnected, moved or rebuilt. Any serial you've quoted to us still applies.

Migration works from v1.8 onwards. From v1.7 or earlier you'll need to go through setup once; every upgrade after that can migrate.

If it times out after 60 seconds, try again — both bridges must be rezzed on the same sim.
