Updating your bridge
Migrate to a new version without redoing setup — your settings transfer across.
When a new bridge version is released, you migrate rather than set up again. Your category, animal types and traffic setting all transfer, and your listings stay live throughout.
What you need
1. Get the new bridge
Touch the SLCompare Update Server in-world. If you're a registered business, the latest pack is delivered to your inventory automatically.
The Update Server location is shown in your portal.
2. Unpack it
Touch the SLCompare Starter Pack [BOXED] in your inventory. You'll get the new bridge and the guides.
3. Rez the new bridge
Rez it next to your existing bridge, on the same sim. It shows:
SLC Bridge Set up or Migrate
Choose Migrate. It sends a request to your old bridge.
4. Confirm
A dialog asks whether to transfer settings from the old bridge. Choose Yes, migrate.
These come across automatically:
The new bridge connects immediately with a fresh serial. There's no gap in service.
5. Delete the old one
The old bridge changes to "Migration complete — you can delete me". Right-click and delete it.
Done.
Worth knowing
Your serial changes after migrating. That's normal — your listings stay connected.
Migration works from v1.8 onwards. From v1.7 or earlier you'll need to go through setup once; every upgrade after that can migrate.
If it times out after 60 seconds, try again — both bridges must be rezzed on the same sim.
